Matthew Carter
A typographer from Britain, Matthew Carter has been in the typography scene since the 1970s, and even helped to create the font for Bell Centennial (the 100-year anniversary for Bell Telephone Company).

Some of the other fonts that Carter has designed are Big Caslon, Fenway, Snell Roundhand, and a dozen others.
Carter is one of the more successful typographers of the 20th and 21st centuries, and even made an appearance in the film Helvetica, which also starred Erik Spiekermann.
Of course, you can find out more about the fonts that Carter has designed by Googling his name, or, if you prefer a hard copy, check out Typographically Speaking: The Art of Matthew Carter.
