Corporate Identity Ideas

Remember when I said I was going to start sharing some of my work for you guys to give me some critique?? Well, here it is! I've been working on designing a logo for an upcoming travel company called South African Adventures, LLC. They specialize in – you guessed it – travel to South Africa. Founded by Craig and Christel Tirrell, people can set up travel itinerary through them, and get to experience a place people know little about.

I've put some good time into this, changing the design around to where I have it now. I'm still working on it, so of course critique is a good thing at the moment. Any suggestions you guys have (color choices, font choices, etc.) would be greatly appreciated!

Funny Fridays

I deserve the cone of shame.
Hey Guys! I have returned from the world of no posting (I know. I'm a bad blogger).

My reasoning for deserting my blog like I have is this: I've been busy dealing with some family issues, as well as trying to get my school to stop being a poop and actually get my financial aid stuff lined up for my final quarter (woo!!!)

I've also been debating about switching up a few things on here to try and get you, the readers, more into my blog. I know, it's going to be a huge undertaking, but I'm up for it!

What's that mean??

It means that I will be adding some more cooking/City Sunday blogs, showing off some of my work to get some feedback, as well as some random stuff that I think you guys would find funny and enjoy watching. I will also be revamping my blog over the next couple weeks (something I will have to do for my portfolio class this upcoming fall anyways, so I should just get a head start on it). That also means I will be trying to get up to blogging at least once a week, then progressing into doing more over the weeks.

I'm hoping that means you guys will enjoy what I have to say and show, and that you can give me some amazing feedback!

Onto your Funny Friday post! Heard about Jenna Marbles??

If not, you probably live in a cave, and need to venture over to the nearest computer cafe and check her out. She is HILARIOUS, and has no problem stating what is on her mind. I will warn you, she's got a mouth on her (how many people from the Northeast don't?) but her movies are amazing. Not to mention her two little dogs (Kermy and Marbles) are adorable. She's awesome is pretty much the bottom line. Here's just a sample of what she's like:

If you like that, then there's plenty more on her YouTube channel. Just follow this link, and enjoy the awesomeness that is her: Jenna Marbles

And, to leave you off laughing a bit more, here you go!

Where'd I go??!

Hey Guys!

Sorry to go MIA for so long. Just got stuck with school, family things, and all that other jazz. So, sadly, my blog has suffered.

So what all have I been up to?? Well...

I built a website to showcase some of the work that I have done in the last year.
You should totally support an artist and check this out.

I have printed enough projects to take out a forest (something I'm not proud of), and inked, watercolor painted, and used more pastels than I really care to think about at the moment.

AND, to top it off...
I have averaged somewhere around 2 1/2 to 4 hours of sleep a night for the last 5 weeks.

In short: I'm a SCAD student.

SCAD. Y U no let me sleep?!

Aaaaanyways, it is Monday, and (before I went rogue) I was doing Music Mondays. So, in happiness of continuing just that, I give you a band to check out:

RED
The middle guy reminds me of SCAD during finals.

A very awesome band to listen to when you're frustrated. Or in need of some push at 5 AM running on no sleep, and have run out of coffee.

This is their song Breathe into Me. Hard, edgy...makes me concentrate on my school work.
Definitely give them a check out! I am going back to my homework now -__-

Wacky Wednesday: Spotify.com

SO, today was my last day of classes for the summer, and now I get a week of some chaos before the next 10 weeks of chaos begins! WOO HOO! *in other news, coffee stocks are up due to one woman consuming so much*

ANYWAYS, since I have finally gotten a moment to sit down and actually WRITE, I thought I would bring up something that all of us have known about for a while:

Why is downloading music so expensive??!

Yes, there are some that download it illegally, then there are those that are honest and actually fork up the money to either buy on iTunes or another music downloading site. Or, if you are truly old school, you trek to your closet music retailer and buy the CD.

You can always log onto YouTube and watch the music videos, but who wants to go and look up every single song, and endure the endless amounts of ads that come with watching YouTube as well.

But, a few days ago, one of my friends actually introduced me to this thing called Spotify.

I'll admit it- I'm slow on the uptake. But hey, at least I learned now rather than later!

Anyways, Spotify is a cross between Pandora and Groove Shark, in that you can upload whatever songs you want and create playlists, but they still have to advertise some stuff (how else are they not going to go bankrupt??).

Completely legal, all while still getting to listen to that new Lil Wayne CD that just came out (Carter 4? HECK YEAH!). All you need is an internet connection, and know the titles of the songs you want to add to your playlists!

Music Video Fun

Hey guys. I know: I fail in the posting of blogs lately. But you can't blame me! Blame the craziness that is finals!

Anyways, I felt that posting something today would help to let you know that I am still alive. And to let you know that due to more craziness that is about to occur this week, I will not be able to post again for a while.

*prepares for the bludgeoning of rotten tomatoes and such*

But, here's a song that I have found pretty awesome, and have been listening to for a while.

Kotov Syndrome by Rise Against

Enjoy everyone! And I shall see you on the other side of this crazy wall of paper work and chaos!

Viral Video Night

Sorry for the delay in posts folks. The chaos of finals is upon us here at SCAD: Summer Quarter Edition. Along with work and an internship? It's a wonder that I haven't ridden the plotter down the hill next to where I'm staying.

^Thank you dictionary.com^

ANYWHOS, it's viral video night, and I've got one in particular that can always get a giggle or two out of me whenever I see it. First time I saw it, nearly fell off the couch from laughter. I'm sure you'll all remember this commercial from two Super Bowls ago:

or, better yet:

Enjoy your Mondays everyone! NOW, back to the chaos

Tune Thursday: Goo Goo Dolls

Another band that I grew up on. The Goo Goo Dolls have been around for what feels like forever, but I'm not complaining anytime soon. This alternative band has been around since the 1986, started in the city of Buffalo, New York. They got their big break in 1990, and they have been plaguing the stereos, CDs, and iPods of people who grew up during this time period (at least those who were into alternative rock or had parents that listened to them).

Here are just a couple of the songs that I grew up listening to, and know plenty of people who listen to them today.

Enjoy everyone!
